The Challenge

The Salon Cranleigh had outgrown its name. Behind the scenes, owner Chantal Johnson had spent years building genuine clinical expertise and investing in non-invasive technology that rivals the clinics on Harley Street. None of that showed up on the website.

Like much of the sector, the previous site leaned on generic salon stock photography and the kind of before-and-after galleries every aesthetics clinic in a saturated market already runs. The technology itself was presented as a list of machines and model numbers rather than something a customer could understand or want. The brand looked like a salon. The business operated like a clinic.

The brief: reposition The Salon Cranleigh as a clinical-grade authority on Cranleigh High Street, while migrating an existing 17-product Shopify store onto WordPress without losing the search visibility already built up.

The Approach

A Different Visual Language

Instead of stock salon photography or another round of before-and-afters, we built the new identity around a considered mix of abstract and black-and-white imagery, colour stripped back, giving the brand the sharper, more clinical edge the business had earned but never claimed.

Solutions, Not Specs

Rather than naming machines and model numbers, we rebuilt the content around the skin concerns Chantal solves and the custom combinations of technology she uses to solve them. The result reads as expertise the customer can understand, not a spec sheet aimed at competitors.

Championing The Founder

Chantal’s years of advocacy for non-invasive skincare became a central part of the brand story, alongside her custom signature facials, treatment blends built around the problems she sees most often in clinic.

A Clean Technical Migration

A full Shopify-to-WordPress migration across 17 products, plus integration of the salon’s booking system, delivered without disrupting existing rankings. All of it live in under three weeks, on top of a working relationship that’s already run for several years.

The Results

"Bubblegum Surrey have supported us for years. They transitioned us from Shopify to WordPress, implemented our booking system, and repositioned our aesthetics brand with a more clinical, high end identity. Fast to deliver, and refreshingly human to work with."

What This Means for Your Business

If your business is sitting on better technology, deeper expertise, or higher-end positioning than your website lets on, you’re leaving growth on the table. The fix is rarely “redesign the website.” It’s working out what you’re actually selling, then proving it, visually.
